What can I say?

I'm psyched, very psyched. The few tracks that i've recorded so far and put up for people to listen to have gone over VERY well. To say that i'm flattered would be an understatement.

It's bizzare - this has been both a great week and a horrible week, for a number of reasons. I won't go into the horrible week part - unlike other online diary writers, I don't know that i'm -that- comfortable sharing intimate portions of my life with the public at large... But on the positive side, many great things happened this week.

First off, about halfway through the week, i recorded my first 'noise' piece, a 10 minute recording of me playing around with the Yamaha fs1r and the cs1x acting as a controller. I titled the piece Dark Matrix, becaus of the base sound's resemblence to a sound in the matrix, and the name of the patch used, Dark. I like knobs, i've decided. I can't wait until I can get the Yamaha cs6x - more knobs! Incredible sounds as well.

That's not all on the good news front. This week, myself and two other people officially (well, over beers in a bar) kicked off my dream of a music production/label company, Silent Noise Productions. To add to the delight, we also decided on the formation of a live, improv noise and experimental act, named Aumlaut. Look for more news on the site there, including an impending announcement of a live performance date!

And, last but not least, I'm leaving my old job. I'm moving to a much smaller company, but it should be great, the new company is a young, small company (well, young in terms of the ages of hte people i'd be working with, etc...). The best part about this place? It's staffed with music geeks[tm]! YES - a place that will understand the need to write and perform music.

By the way - welcome to my world, my life. Enjoy your stay...
